CPSA 2017 at Ryerson University in Toronto offers an occasion to pay tribute to the memory of the distinguished political scientist Stephen Clarkson who passed away last year.
All CPSA members and conference attendees are invited to a welcoming RECEPTION to be held May 29 the night before the meetings begin. The event is from 18:00 to 20:00 in the Thomas Lounge of Oakham House on the Ryerson Campus.
In addition please note that a plenary panel on his work, and a roundtable both feature on this years programme: May 30 at 1:30 and 3:30. These will provide an opportunity for a retrospective appreciation of his major scholarly contributions.
At the founding of the CPSA in 1966, Stephen Clarkson was its Secretary-Treasurer. He was a faithful participant in annual meetings, giving papers, organizing roundtables, acting as a commentator, and encouraging his graduate students to take part.
The pre-conference reception celebrating the memory of a special scholar, and a friend to many is offered by his widow Nora Clarkson.
